El proyecto de la torreta Rebote apareció por primera vez en 2009. Se había planeado que la torreta se llame "Vulcano". Sus tiros originalmente no rebotaban en la superficie y eran azules. Al mismo tiempo, Vulcano / Rebote era una arma automática, pero luego la idea de las bolas que rebotan apareció, y luego se desarrollo en una nueva torreta, conocida como Rebote.
